RV Shipments Expected to Surpass 307,000 Units in 2013

Courtesy of Haydocy Airstream & RV March 29, 2013: RV Shipments Expected to Surpass 307,000 Units in 2013 Wholesale RV shipments are expected to rise to 307,300 units in 2013, according to Dr. Richard Curtin’s latest projection in the Spring 2013 issue of RV Roadsigns, RVIA’s quarterly forecast of RV deliveries to RV retailers. The gain to 307,300 units would be a 7.5% increase over the 2012 year-end total of 285,800 units. The motorhome segment of the market will see a gain of 13.1% from 28,200 units in 2012 to 31,900 units in 2013. Towable RV shipments are expected to climb by 7% from 257,600 units in 2012 to 275,400 units in 2013. Curtin says growth will be driven by a combination of factors. “Credit terms and the availability of loans can be expected to ease further in 2013. Gains in household wealth can be expected to continue in 2013 due to both an improving stock market as well as increased home prices while modest gains in after-tax incomes and..."
