Spring Triathlon

It's that time again!!!
You are invited to warm-up for the upcoming summer triathlon season!  Every year on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, the Bucyrus YMCA sponsors a sprint triathlon that ushers in the season for a fun-loving group of swimmers, bikers and runners

 

The Bucyrus Area YMCA 2013 Spring Triathlon will be held on Saturday, May 25 starting at 9:00 am; check-in for participants will be from 7:30-8:30 am.  Competitors may participate as individuals, or as 2 or 3-person teams.  The field will be limited to 100 participants, with preference given to pre-registered entrants.

 

 

The registration fee is $30.00 for individual competitors and $50.00 for teams. Entries must be postmarked, faxed or arrive by Friday, May 17, 2013; checks must arrive by Thursday, May 23, 2013.  Race day registration will be allowed for those who make prior arrangements with the Race Committee by email. T-shirts are guaranteed for those who register by May 16th.

 

Awards will be given to the following:  the top finisher overall in Women’s and Men’s categories; plus the top three finishers in the following Women’s and Men’s age groups—19 & under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49,  and 50-59, and 60 & over.  Awards will also be given to the top finisher in the Team categories for Men, Women and Coed, and to the top male and female finishers from Crawford County.  Refreshments will be provided.

The gain to 307,300 units would be a 7.5% increase over the 2012 year-end total of 285,800 units. The motorhome segment of the market will see a gain of 13.1% from 28,200 units in 2012 to 31,900 units in 2013. Towable RV shipments are expected to climb by 7% from 257,600 units in 2012 to 275,400 units in 2013. Curtin says growth will be driven by a combination of factors. “Credit terms and the availability of loans can be expected to ease further in 2013. Gains in household wealth can be expected to continue in 2013 due to both an improving stock market as well as increased home prices while modest gains in after-tax incomes and..." ODNR offers a free night of camping

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) will be offering a free night of camping at 54 campgrounds within Ohio State Parks on Thursday, April 18, the ODNR announced today. “I want to encourage Ohioans to start their weekend early by camping at one of our Ohio State Parks campgrounds for free,” said ODNR Director James Zehringer. “This is an excellent opportunity for families to explore new parts of Ohio and find out what is available within our state parks system.” For this promotion, campers can make a free reservation for a stay that includes the Free Camping Day. Bucyrus, 03/18/2013 – Haydocy Chevy is partnering with the Bucyrus Area YMCA in Bucyrus.  Haydocy Chevy has joined forces with the national Chevrolet Youth Baseball program to provide new equipment, a monetary contribution, invitations to FREE instructional clinics, and an opportunity for community members to enter the Free Chevrolet vehicle sweepstakes.

“Youth baseball provides positive and productive life lessons for young people across America, and the Chevrolet Youth Baseball program is an extension of Chevrolet’s commitment to baseball, community and families.  Haydocy Chevy is bringing that same dedication to youth baseball,” said Kevin Haydocy, president  for Haydocy Chevy.

“There is nothing more American than Chevrolet and baseball and Haydocy Chevy wants to combine America’s favorite brand and favorite pastime together for our families in Bucyrus to enjoy,” added Haydocy.

2013 marks Chevrolet’s Youth Baseball program’s eighth year, and since its introduction has helped aid local teams, affecting more than 3 million young people in communities where Chevrolet’s customers live, work and play.  In 2012, about 1,600 Chevrolet dealers participated across the country.

Haydocy Chevywill present the Bucyrus Area YMCA with equipment kits with items including things like equipment bags, baseball buckets, practice hitting nets, umpire ball bags, batting tees and Chevrolet Youth Baseball T-shirts. The sponsorship also includes youth clinics featuring current and former MLB/MiLB players and coaches and instructors from Ripken Baseball.

In addition, Haydocy Chevy will present a check representing a one-time monetary contribution to Bucyrus Area YMCA.  Sponsored leagues across the country will each receive 2,000 Free Sweepstakes Entry forms to distribute within the community.  At the end of the entry period, five winners – one from each region – will win their choice between a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu or Chevrolet Traverse. Each participating market will award a secondary prize.

In addition to its commitment to youth baseball, Chevrolet also is the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball™.
